An aspiring new entrant is seeking an opportunity to establish a small‑scale, sustainable livestock enterprise in the Scottish Borders or wider south of Scotland. Currently based near Hawick, she has a strong preference to remain in the region if possible. With previous experience working on a mixed farm during her teenage years, she has a realistic understanding of the physical demands and commitment required. She holds a degree in Zoology and has a particular interest in livestock production carried out under regenerative, sustainable and organic principles. Alongside her practical background, she has wider sector engagement experience, having previously been involved in the organising committee for the Oxford Farming Conference. Currently employed as a bookkeeper, she is seeking a route back into farming and is actively exploring what opportunities may exist through land matching. While ideally, she would like to purchase land in the longer term, she is realistic about land values and open to alternative access routes that would allow her to develop a viable farming business over time. This would suit a landowner or business looking to support a motivated new entrant with a clear commitment to ethical and sustainable farming.
